May 14th will be a virtual day for our 7th and 8th graders. They will not report to school on this day. The 6th graders will be on the hill that day to get acquainted with how middle school will be for them. Wednesday, May 15th will be our inflatable day from 9:00-2:00pm. Inflatable rentals have been funded by our Parent Advisory Council. Friday, May 17th will be an early dismissal day. Students will be dismissed at 11:30am in order to prepare for the high school graduation. Saturday, May 18th will be the 8th grade dance from 6:00-8:00pm. We have plenty of spaces at summer camp. There is still time to get your forms in. Summer camp will be June 3rd-27th, Monday-Thursday, from 8:00-3:00pm. Breakfast and lunch will be provided and transportation will also be provided. Have your student pick up a from in the office on Monday. Sports You MUST have a current SPORTS physical to try-out. This is different from a wellness physical. You will not be able to try out unless you bring required paperwork (sports physical, concussion form and required health insurance information). TSSAA requires you to have health insurance. There will be sports physical packets available at the elementary schools beginning Monday, May 6th. You may also pick up a packet at the middle school anytime. If you need a sports physical, Wendy Hensley will be able to do one. Please call the middle school at 727-2600 or call central office at 727-2640 to schedule this. There is a fee for the physical. JCMS Volleyball tryouts will be Thursday, May 9th and Monday, May 13th! You must attend both tryouts in order to be eligible. Upcoming 8th grader tryouts will be: Thursday, May 9th from 3:30-4:30 AND Monday, May 13th from 4:30-5:45 Upcoming 7th grade tryouts will be (Upcoming 6th graders are allowed to tryout): Thursday, May 9th from 4:30-5:45 AND Monday, May 13th from 4:30-45:45. Paperwork will be taken up at the school office on Wednesday May 8th from 3:30-5:00 or beginning at 4:15 on May 9th for upcoming 7th graders. We would prefer to have it prior to May 9th so that no time is lost with tryouts. Tryouts are closed to parents Cheerleading tryouts will be Thursday, May 23rd from 3:30-5:30. Packets will be available in the school offices soon. Follow our Facebook page for more details on when packets are due. Boys basketball tryouts will be Tuesday, May 21st for upcoming 7th and 8th graders and Thursday, May 23rd for incoming 6th graders. Tryouts will be from 6:30-8:30 on both days and a sports physical must be turned in at the time of tryouts. We look forwards to a new sports season!
